Its nice to hear that the Catholic Church is getting into the green swing-of-things. First it was the installation of solar panels on the Vatican buildings in an effort to not only save electricity but to use a source of power that is better for the earth. This weekend the Pope led the first ever youth eco-rally.  

The event wasn’t just marked by save-the-earth speeches, the Catholic Church walked the walk. Event prayer books printed on recycled paper, bio-degradable plates and utensils used for meals, participants received backpacks made of recycled material. Of course reducing garbage, recycling event materials, and planting trees to offset the carbon generated by the event and the Pope wearing green were also a part of activities.
